I created this painting for my book The Lost Mermaid. Julie finds a mermaid in her pond named Emerald. Emerald introduces her into a world of magic by giving her a mermaid tiara. This tiara transforms Julie into a mermaid while she wears it. She becomes human again once she removes it. She is warned not to wear it during a full moon or else she’ll transform into a mermaid permanently.
