The 10-Day Painting Challenge

Have you ever wanted to learn how to paint but didn’t know where to start?

This is a simple, low-pressure way to begin.

The 10-Day Painting Challenge is:

  • 10 days usually starting on the 10th

  • 10 minutes a day

  • 10 simple paintings

  • 1 theme each month

Each day, I’ll guide you with a prompt and 10 tips so you can create something you’re proud of. You don’t need experience. You just need a desire to try.

We’ll use watercolors on watercolor paper, and your supplies can cost less than $10.

You are a creator. You may feel a little bit nervous at first, but art is such a wonderful way to pass the time. Have you ever experienced a flow moment where you were so engrossed in something that you didn’t even notice the passing of time. Well, that’s what can happen eventually as you pick up your paintbrush. Maybe not the first or second day, but by and by you will experience flow moments!

It’s so wonderful to open your imagination and watch color move. We are going to learn so much together! There are a lot of fun mediums to try. They are great gift giving ideas to buy for yourself or loved ones. My favorite watercolor mediums beside a basic watercolor pallet are the following:

  • Brushos watercolor crystals,

  • watercolor markers & water brush,

  • watercolor pencils & water brush,

  • Inktense watercolor pencils & water brush,

  • watercolor crayons & water brush,

  • a Pilot Razor Point Fine Line Marker and water brush!

All classes are available on OrganizeYourJoy.com.

Let’s paint together!

Your friend,
Krystal Meldrum

P.S. May you give yourself permission to paint. Let’s play with color!

The Art of Mothering Fine Art Show

The Art of Mothering Show was held at the Peteetneet Academy October- November 2025 and now a few of the paintings are in the Bride’s Room Permanent Display. Come and be inspired as we honor and celebrate the women and mothers who have nurtured the souls of mankind. They are the quiet, unsung heroes whose love and sacrifice shape generations. Truly, the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Without the influence of women, the beauty and goodness that fill the earth would not exist. We have all been lifted by a mother and walked a higher road because of her. We shall celebrate the behind-the-scenes work our mothers has given to all of us.

A new book is coming titled The Art of Mothering: Organize Your Joy One Season at a Time. This book will feature all 52 motherhood paintings, each paired with a paragraph that shares the inspiration behind the artwork coming out for Mother’s Day 2026. This collection is a celebration of family, faith, and the divine influence of mothers—capturing moments that strengthen families, honor motherhood, and deepen our connection with God.

I was honored to win Best of Show at the Payson Onion Day Fine Art Show 2025 for Relying on God’s Love. Remember, in a world of comparison, God’s opinion is what matters. He loves you deeply and sends daily love notes —close your eyes, listen, and feel His gentle whisper reminding you of your true worth.

Krystal offers a homeschool art curriculum and, as a licensed Fits All Scholarship Provider, loves guiding aspiring artists of all ages. Whether you're just starting or looking to grow your skills, you'll gain the confidence and tools to bring your art dreams to life!

Let’s pick up our sketchbooks and let our imaginations take flight. My ArtDreamer Sketchbook: Daily Prompts to Unlock Your Inner Artist, is coming out September of 2025. You’ll travel through 12 enchanting lessons—learning to draw mermaids, fairies, play with light and color, and bring magical creatures to life.

Perfect for ages 9 to 99, you’ll build skills, create finished art you’re proud of, and even learn how to share (and sell!) your work. Let’s start your artdreamer journey!

Do you have a creative Passion?

In the book Mini Habits, the author Stephen Guise explains that mini habits are tiny, ridiculously easy actions you do every day to build momentum and consistency.

Instead of aiming for huge goals that feel overwhelming, you start with something so small you can’t fail—like one push-up, reading one page, or writing 50 words every day.

Get a year-at-a-glance calendar and track your mini habits with no more than 4 mini habits at a time. The magic is that these little wins bypass procrastination, create positive momentum, and often lead to doing more than you planned, all while building lasting habits without burnout.

Mini Habits are changing my life, and they can change yours too!

My current 4 mini habits are:

  • sing one song,

  • play one song on the piano

  • sketch 2 minutes,

  • and read 5 pages.

I always do more time than I plan because the goal is so easy. These 4 goals are helping me accomplish so much. Little things can grow into big things!

Do you want to do some creative self-care?

You can do it with mini-habits. Just 2 minutes a day, 5 days a week, and—poof!—you’re 260 drawing days better by the end of the year!

Starting is the hardest part, so if you need help with your goals, make your mini habit smaller and watch your dreams come to pass!
