Getting Started
Set Yourself Up For Success
Answer the Following Questions:
What is my goal/passion?
Do I have space in my home for my passion/project?
What tools do I need to accomplish my goal?
How much time will I spend on my passion? When? (i.e. 5 minutes each day, 15 minutes on Wednesday, 1 hour on Saturday)
Do I want an accountability buddy? Who will it be?
Creating Time For Yourself and Your Passion
We all have busy lives and carving out time for ourselves and finding time for our passions and dreams can be difficult. Finding time for what we are passionate about is step number one. I recommend starting with this simple tool called the Bubble Blotter. Set a time value for each bubble, ranging from 5 minutes to an hour depending on what works best for you and your schedule. If you want to track more than one creative activity, you may color in the circle or write a Letter of the alphabet to represent your creative tasks for the week or for the month. Write the date on the line. Cross out the bubble when you have met your daily goal. Let's log minutes and see what we can create! Download the image below to introduce the bubble blotter into your life.
Put Decisions on Autopilot
The next thing that has helped me immensely is putting decisions on autopilot. Two ways I do this is that I created a weekly deep cleaning system that repeats each month. Secondly, I made meal planning easier by choosing a theme each night. I created a tool called the Queen Bee Dinner Planner that teaches you the way I make dinner planning easier.
